Who doesn’t appreciate a pristine stack of polo shirts? To be honest I never really scrutinized these images, even though they are in every printed catalog and on every catalog site. Not until I had to work on them myself. I never realized how much retouching work went into them.

For best results each color is clipped out separately, and quite often I make a layer group for each color. Because eventually there might be several adjustment layers for each color, so it’s a good idea to keep the file organized. Some art directors will ask for the edges to be clipped.

And sometimes colors are dropped from inventory and the stack will have to be adjusted. Layer groups are going to make that process a lot easier.
