September Art Attack Poster & Card

A “back to school” theme seemed kind of obvious for the September Georgetown Art Attack poster and card. Some sort of nostalgic cheerleader imagery, specifically a guy cheerleader with a big megaphone. There was some debate as to what would be in the background, since there aren’t any schools in the vicinity. We used the city hall building for the comp, but I thought it was too distracting as a background. (Undesirable telephone poles etc)

Eventually I found a great old high school building for the background. And I added poms poms, letters, shadows and color on everybody. I think it ended up having a 1940’s WPA poster look and feel.
