Swellpictures is me, Tim Silbaugh, a Seattle-based digital illustrator, designer, photo retoucher. Initially a somewhat traditional mixed-media artist, but I have, over the years, gradually evolved into an accomplished digital artist as well.

I started making band posters in the early 80s. Just my own handwriting and drawings at first, then press type and Xerox manipulations. I bought my first computer and scanner in the late 90’s and discovered Photoshop, then things got really interesting.

For over 20 years I’ve been making posters, handbills, postcards, print ads, music packaging, and all kinds of random print collateral. Digital illustration and composite pieces, and thousands of hours of commercial retouching work. I’ve done everything from primitive punk band flyers to production projects for huge corporations.

I’m working full-time at a place called SanMar these days, so I’m not looking for any freelance projects for now.
